If you are a junior or senior with a 3.0 GPA or higher, you quality for the 2008 Youth Leadership Program sponsored by St. Ambrose University, in Davenport.  It runs from July 11 – July 20.  See Mrs. Holdsworth for information.

Students interested in attending an Architecture Camp at Southern Illinois University from July 13-18 should see Mrs. Holdsworth in the counseling office for information and an application.

Students interested in Aviation as a career might wish to attend the Southern Illinois University-Carbondale Career Day on April 26.  Fly there free from Chicago.  Details and applications are available online at www.aviation.siu.edu/careerdays

The most creative and entrepreneurial students from across Illinois are encouraged to take part in lCamp CEO on the Southern Illinois University , Carbondale, campups.  It is schedule for July 13-July 18.  Information and registration are at www.campceo.biz

Scholarship Information

• New full-ride renewable scholarship opportunities are available for University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee.  See Mrs. Holdsworth for more information.

   

• Senior males attending the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign may stop by to see Mrs. Holdsworth for information about the “Balanced Man” scholarship presented by Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, if they are interested.

   

• If you are pursuing a career in agriculture at a two-year or four-year college, possibly you should apply for the Excellence in Agriculture Scholarship.  Forms are in the Counseling scholarship drawer.

   

• Students with a 2.5 or higher GPA and who are of African American Heritage may apply for a scholarship from Quad Cities Chapter of the Links, Inc.  Applications are in the Counseling scholarship drawer.

   

• Black Hawk College Foundation offers a number of scholarship opportunities.  The flyers describing each scholarship and the application forms are in the Counseling scholarship drawer. 

   

• The Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago is offering a minimum of three $1000 scholarships to students with epilepsy who plan to continue their education either at a college or a vocational program.  Applications are in the Counseling Scholarship drawer.

   

• Students who graduated from Colona Grade School may apply for a $500 scholarship  from the Colona PTA.  Applications are in the Counseling scholarship drawer.
